New Addition to the CAN Offices
In the past 7 months Contemporary Analysis has expanded from 4 to 20 employees, and will easily expand past 50 employees within the next year. To accommodate that growth we have had to expand out offices at 1209 Harney St. Here is an updated look at our offices.
1209 Harney St., is located in Omaha’s Historic Old Market. The Old Market is located south of downtown Omaha, NE. Our offices are surrounded by many restaurants, art galleries and upscale shopping all within walking distance. Our building was original constructed in 1880 by an iron and hardware wholesaler.
We didn’t want cubicles. They are complicated and time consuming to setup and hard to move. That didn’t work with CAN’s need to meet the growing need for our services. Also, almost everyone who has interviewed at CAN talks about trying to escape cubical land. Our solutions was the Sense Desking System by Herman Miller. There are only 7 pieces to setup instead of the 20+ for a cubical, and no tools are required thanks to the unique ratcheting system. When combined with the Herman Miller Sayl chair, we created a smart work environment for our team.
Training is key to CAN’s success and continued growth. Every new employee goes through 8-weeks of training. We also provide continuing education every every Friday afternoon. We value our employees’ ability to learn, not just what they all ready know. Our Training room allows seating for up to 12 people.
When planning our expansion we wanted more than a break room, so we built a full kitchen. Our employees love being about to cook a meal, grab a quick snack, or share a meal with family or coworkers. It has provided an escape from the long hours developing solutions to help our customers work smart.
When refurbishing the space we wanted to highlight buildings original wood floors and columns. We were careful to leave the oil stains and burn marks on the floor from when the building was used as a factory. We didn’t want the building to lose it heritage.
CAN continues to grow. We have plans to expand even further on two additional floors at 1209 Harney.
