In 2016, Contemporary Analysis teamed up with Interface Web School to create the Omaha Data Science Academy. The Oma-DSA is a 22 week course designed to boost existing data science knowledge for a competitive edge in the workforce.
In July of 2016 Contemporary Analysis (CAN) announced the open enrollment for the Omaha Data Science Academy, the ultimate goal of which is to train a data scientist for every company in Omaha.
With the Oma-DSA, Omaha has the potential to be known internationally as a hub for budding data scientists. Not only that, but it also means that companies in Omaha have an enormous advantage by their proximity to highly educated and expertly trained data scientists.
How does the Oma-DSA accomplish this reputation? Hands-on data science learning techniques.
The certificate of Academy graduates incorporate four modules:
- Basics of Python Programming
- Data Manipulation and Management
- Statistics and Computational Modeling
- Data Visualization using Tableau
Classes are taught by data scientists currently working in the field, not professors at a university. Already 4 of the 6 graduates from the first run of the Academy have been hired for their skills.
